NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick

I have been looking for an orange lipstick for quite a while now. Still haven't found the perfect shade that I wanted which is a softer orange that I can wear on an everyday basis. I did however saw this bright orange lipstick from NYX which is something you don't often see people wearing on the streets so I decided to grab it.

I really like the packaging of this! I also found that this range of lipstick is somewhat taller than a regular NYX lipstick. Even the feel of the tube is matte which is nice but it leaves fingerprints. It's good that you can easily tell what the color of the product is because of the clear plastic in the middle part of the tube.

The only problem I find with the packaging is that you will be able to twist the tube even if the cap is closed so basically the product will twist upwards and hit the cap while it's still in the tube. The result is that of a slightly nicked lipstick which ain't so pretty... as you can see from the shot above.

Indie Flick is a bright orange-y red and has a matte finish. It's a little bit drying so I suggest putting on some chap stick or lip balm for a smoother application. It doesn't bleed out or anything and lasts for a good 3-4 hours on me.

 I think this is pretty handy for days when I wanna look 'done up' but don't wanna put on much makeup on my eyes. To be honest I rarely use bold colors like this except on special occasions or whenever I felt like I needed to change up my makeup routine. But overall I quite like Indie Flick! It stood out from the rest of my lipsticks which are mainly pinks and mauve shades. The NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick retails for B$15.90 at Shop at Sarah's, Kiulap Mall.

I have been dying to try out the NYX Rouge Cream Blush for the longest time! Was so stoked when Shop at Sarah mentioned on their facebook page that they brought in some new stuff from NYX cosmetics. Gahh you have no idea haha! This blush is literally the first thing I grabbed when I walked into the store.

I initially wanted to try out the other shades too but I figured I'd  most probably use this as a base for my powder blush so I don't need more than one. Aaaannd I was right. haha

Boho Chic is a muted pink blush with a very subtle shimmer to it. It's surprisingly very easy to blend but I wouldn't say that it lasts extremely long. A few hours, tops for me. Especially since I have oily-combo skin, this will probably slip right off my cheeks after about a few hours. The pigmentation is more on the sheer side but layering is possible for a more defined blush.

Like I mentioned previously, I normally use this as a base for my powder blush but you can also use it on its own for a dewy fresh look. The color is gorgeous and will look good on fair-medium skin tones. I know don't need another one of this but knowing me I'd probably purchase more simply because they are so easy to use! Sometimes when I'm in a rush I'd just put this on and some lipstick and I'm good to go!

Victoria's Secret Bejeweled Eyes Palette

I have always been intrigued by Victoria's Secret products. I can never tell if the brand is positioned as a high-end brand or whether it's more towards the drugstore level. But I guess VS has a whole other 'level' on its own since you can probably only buy their products in a Victoria's Secret store. Unless you're from Brunei, of course. Then you can buy this at Kiulap Mall. 

I am lucky to receive this as a gift. If you're an avid reader of my blog you'll know that this palette is given to me by Izzy and her lovely sis. I saw this sold at Shop at Sarah's and they are selling it for BND50! And I got it FOC! Sometimes I just wanna look at myself in the mirror and tell myself what a lucky bastard I am. lol

This is the first time I've tried VS's products, especially their makeup and I'm pleasantly surprised by their quality! These eye shadows are creamy and a breeze to blend. As for pigmentation, they are pretty decent but you can easily layer them for more definition. My favourite shades are the lighter shades and also the greyish taupe. All of the shades are shimmery except for the purple shade, which has slightly more of a satin finish to it. Gorgeous! 

The only thing that I am still on the fence about is the black gel liner. The gel liner gets exposed every time I use this palette for the eye shadows. So far there hasn't been a problem but I'm not sure how well the gel liner is gonna fare and if it's prone to drying up.

I have on the light creamy shade as an inner corner highlight, the pearl blue on my lids and purple on the outer corner of my eyes.

I like that this palette has a few fun colors for me to play around with. Blues and greens are not something that I use frequently but the shades in this palette is def gonna inspire me to experiment with colors! Maybe turning a day look into a night-time makeup look or something. haha

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams: Milan & San Paulo

As you probably know Shop at Sarah has recently stocked up on more NYX products! I was so excited for this because they finally brought in some of the other NYX stuff that I have been waiting for like the Rouge Cream blushers and of course, the Soft Matte Lip Creams! I wanted to get all the shades but that would be suicidal for my wallet so I bought two instead. I like to think that I have a strong mindset and that I am in control of my spendings lol

Milan is a beautiful pink shade with a slightly blue undertone whereas San Paulo is a darker pink, somewhat berry shade which is perfect for a night time look! I love these!! It's like cream lipstick but only better because once you give it a minute or two, these lip creams will set and it will not budge for the rest of the day! I find that they last about 6-8 hours on me, which is pretty amazing considering that I ate, drank from a straw and did a lot of talking within that 6-8hours. 

The NYX matte lip creams, true to their words have a matte finish once they set on the lips. From the swatches alone you can already tell how crazily pigmented they are! And I really like the packaging too with the compact tube and matte black cap! Although the product itself differ slightly in color in comparison to the tube's packaging, it gives a pretty good idea as to what the colors look like in real life.

 I guess the only problem I have with these are that they have a pretty distinct scent. I can't quite put my finger on what the lip creams smell like but if I had to describe them in words I'd say they smell like candies... that don't taste so good. lol My dad said they smell like berries? haha

 I've also spotted Beautycrush from youtube wearing San Paulo in her recent videos and it looked gorgeous on her! Overall I really like these even though I'm not a big fan of the scent. I'll definitely go back and try some more of their other shades. Been eyeing the bright red for a while now, maybe it's time to get it? I'm also looking forward to trying the Xtreme lip creams! NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Pink Brown

I was initially looking for a red lip pencil to match Revlon's 'Love that red' when I was at the NYX's stand but their jumbo lip pencils just screamed at me for attention! So in the end I picked out Pink Brown just to test them out. It was the closest thing to an orange lipstick that I could find from the range. (Believe it or not I am still looking for an orange colored lipstick! Why is it so hard to find one here?!!)

This particular one is mentioned in one of Rachhloves's favourites of the month! Tbh I haven't really use much of this until I saw it in her video and goes "Hey I have that! Now where did I put it again.." Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful color. It's just that when I got it there were no testers out so I didn't know what was the finish of this lip pencil. Turns out it has a frosty finish which if you know me, you'll know I'm not a big fan of.

Pink Brown is pink in color in one lighting but can be slightly peachy too in another. On my lips it is more peach than pink. Surprisingly it's not drying at all and goes on more like a lip balm than an actual lip pencil. These are basically lipstick in a pencil form.

I don't see myself wearing this as much as I'd like to and that's probably because I personally prefer a matte or a satin finish to my lipsticks. I pretty much never wear any frosty lip products at all. But I'll definitely try out the other Jumbo lip pencils, the red one looks so tempting! If a frosted finish is what your heart desire, I'd say go for this but if you'd rather prefer a matte finish to your lip, Pink Brown might not be for you. Just for fun weekend

The siblings and I decided to go up to Bandar just to check out the Consumer fair at Bridex because we have never been to one before even though it has been around for what, 7 years?? lol The whole thing was really unplanned, one minute we were eating breakfast in the kitchen and the next I am applying my makeup ready to head out! 

And I just remembered that me and Shala won some prizes from Skin79 from a quiz they made on their facebook page so we headed to Kiulap Mall first.

Coincidentally they were having that 50% off sale and this time their very famous Hot Pink BB Cream was on sale for B$19.95! Can't pass that up now can we? ;)

Funny story. While we were paying, Shala passed her B$20 and the cashier lady gave B$19.95 back as change! We were staring at the money she's handing to us with "wtf" written all over our faces. haha! Super funny but she's prolly new so that's okay. We got our correct amount of change back in the end.

The Crowd at the Consumer Fair in Bridex

Surprisingly there were a lot of parking spaces when we reached there! I guess maybe it's because it was the last day and everyone has already been to the place? But it's still pretty crowded!

These necklaces ranges from B$6 - B$13. I have their facebook page since forever ago but never bought anything from them because I wasn't sure of the quality of their stuff. But now that I saw them in person, they are gorgeous!! These can easily go for far more expensive in Ego. I got a few things here which I will share with you guys in the near future so look out for that. ;D
