Day trip to Genting!

Last weekend was by far one of the best weekends I've had this year. Me and the girls signed up for a free trip to Genting. I initially thought that only the trip there is free but as it turned out UM even paid for our tickets! If I'm not mistaken they costs about RM60 if you were to purchase them yourself. Totally worth it!! Many others tried to sign up for it but it was already full so we were very very lucky to be on that list.

The view from the cable car is magnificent!

This was the first ride we went on!

The Kanniga

Norain~

Food vendors are everywhere in the outdoor park. The herbal egg's the best!! Even Norain can't resist lol Most of the food's quite expensive actually, for eg. Nasi Lemak for RM6

Walked pass the stage when this happened. Pretty ladies dancing to traditional Chinese music. There was also a lion dance performance! (which we missed)

The shopping complex indoors is really something. I loved everything about it! Everyone looks like they're having so much fun the mood's contagious!

One of the many Chinese stalls

Awesome artist drawing a portrait of a couple. It's too bad the original picture has basically 0 pixels in it. It's so blur I'm amazed the artist is able to capture any details at all!

Another amazing artist using the base of his hands to draw a waterfall!

People crowding around the stage. I think there's a mini concert as well as a magic show.

Kenny at Kenny Rogers. Kenny and Kenny, get it? (laugh at self)

Our free pass!

 Chix sandwich

These muffins were to die for!!!

Charlie's interracial angels lol

Group photo!

Can't resist taking another shot when we're heading back.

All in all, I love Genting! Would love to come back here some other time. *Hint hint Shala* I love the flume ride! I notice that a lot of the riders don't scream when their boat is being plunged into the water. I tried so hard to hold back from screaming but it unleashes itself with the ferocity of a mad dragon everytime the boat swoops into the water. I guess there are some things in life you just can't control. lol

Sogo & Jalan Masjid India

Me and the girls were pretty free today so we decided to go to Sogo! There are still some sale going on but apparently the offers are not as great as during the holidays season. We'll be back, of course. lol

Passed by this every morning on the way to UM

The village!

Norain, Kenny and me waiting for the LRT. It would be a miracle to come back home after a long day of window shopping looking as fresh as we did in this photo.

Kenny and her smile

So glad to see a MAC store here!

Totally skipped this section.

Love the CNY deco they put up!

Sogo reminds me of Parkson. But better.

One of the things we ordered, carrot cake. Heavenly!

Norain at one of the stalls along Jalan Masjid India.

There are a lot to see here if you're looking for cheaper tops/shawls/accessories and other tidbits. We went during the Friday prayer and men were lining up all along the pathway praying in front of shops and stalls! The traffic is really crazy here and there's no way to escape the noise. That I'm fine with. Not a big fan of smokers though.

On the way back and we bumped into these boys. Sorry, lady at the back...

Adjusting to life in KL

The past few days after arriving in KL was crazy, to say the least. The new semester has started today but we are still scrambling around campus trying to figure out how to handle our visa. UM is about 5 times bigger than UBD and to go from one faculty to another you may or may not need a bus. I can't wait to finally settle down and start my life as an exchange student!

Midvalley was one of the places we first went to when we arrived.

Top Shop. We didn't really buy anything yet, just browsed around.

Can't help but take this shot @ MPH

Gave in and bought these two!

Day 2 of orientation. Me and Kenny's goal is to blend in with the locals lol

In our first lecture. Turns out class was cancelled!

We are currently staying in Pantai Hillpark. It's a really hilly area and we had to walk up and down the hill everyday to go out. It's literally a workout on its own! The lifestyle here is of course different than what we're used to but it's fairly easy to adapt. The LRT is really useful to go places. I don't know if people usually use LRT when on vacation but you can use it and the monorail to reach all the major shopping areas like KLCC and Bukit Bintang. There are aplenty of buses at KL Sentral that takes people to Genting.

Makeup wise, as you can see from the above shot I am sticking to glasses. lol I have yet to shop for any makeup!

What's in my travel makeup bag?

I finally packed my makeup stuff after much procrastination for a good reason. It's only day 4 of the Chinese New Year celebration and I need my makeup so I literally put off packing till the very last day. Surprisingly I ended up packing much less than I intended to. The reason being I only have a 20kg limit in my baggage allowance and I know that I will be spending moolah over there for more makeup! So why bring so much when you're gonna buy more anyway, right?

 Face:

L-R: Skin79 Hot Pink compact powder, MAC blush in Fleur Power, Essence Silky Touch blush in Natural Beauty, L'oreal Base Magique primer

Skin79 BB Cream samples in L-R: Snail Nutrition, VIP Gold Super+, Diamond, Hot Pink

Decided to bring these samples because they are so tiny and travel friendly. Also, I now have 4 different types of BB Creams to enjoy before going out and getting a full sized foundation. I initially wanted to take with me the Revlon Whipped foundation but the glass jar is kinda heavy and I'm worried it's gonna break during traveling so that one's gotta stay. Too bad.. it's my longest lasting foundation!

Eyes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion, Maybelline Falsies mascara, L'oreal Brow Stylist pencil in Dark Brown, Garnier BB Eye Roll-on, Revlon Grow Luscious Lash Liner in Onyx, Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eyeliner in Black

Catrice Eyeshadow in Mr Copper's Fields, Skin Food Eyebrow Powder cake, Catrice Eyeshadow in Starlight Expresso, MUA duo-chrome Eyeshadow in Shade 12

Most of these products I already have a review on, just look for it in the search engine at the side bar! I can't believe I'm only gonna bring 3 eye shadows with me. I thought of my Inglot palette, Naked palette and even my Revlon quad but it felt so excessive. In my mind I am already shopping at Sephora or something so I'm pretty sure I don't need to bring that much eye shadow or makeup in general. lol Though I'm still physically here in Brunei, it is apparent that my mind has wandered off overseas.

 Lips:

Stage Lipstick in Blooming bud, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan

Brushes:

All of the brushes are from Sigma with the exception of the powder brush which is from ELF cosmetics. It's a dense brush with a flat top and it applies powder to the face like a dream! Sigma's brushes are really good too, I have been using mine for more than THREE freaking years now and they are still good as new! They are most definitely worth the price and I suggest you go for the complete kit if you haven't tried out any of their brushes yet. I'm curious about their Mr. Bunny synthetic brush kit, really wanna try those out some day!

That's all the makeup I'm taking on the plane with me. It differs so much from the makeup I brought with me when I went to KK eons ago! You can check that out here. Only if you're interested of course, no pressure.
