Revlon Lip Butters: Cherry Tart & Tutti Frutti

If you don't already know, I am obsessed with Revlon Lip Butters. I like how they are so creamy and yet still pigmented enough to use as a lipstick. They also give off a glossy finish which saves me the use of any lip gloss. Perfection in a tube is what it is!

For this year's Salebration, Guardian is having a buy 1 free 1 promo with them lip butters so I decided to finally pick up Tutti Frutti which is this pretty orange color as well as Cherry Tart, which is a very wearable reddish color. I got them both for the price of one at B$15.90. The Salebration will go on till 13th Jan next year!

I can't get over how gorgeous their packaging is! I've also written reviews on a few other lip butters by Revlon. These lip butters may not last for a very long time but they're well worth it, I think! I guess the only downside to them is that they don't have that much product in each tube.

Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

For months I have been searching for the perfect orange shade for the lips and a few of my friends have recommended Tutti Frutti to me. Since then I have owned a couple of orange lip products but still I don't think they suit me that well. Maybe I'm just too fussy but I am also stubborn. Tutti Frutti is really pretty and I'm sure it looks great on other people but once again I find that I'm not in love with how it looks on me. So that's it guys, I'm putting a stop to my quest in finding the perfect orange shade. haha I currently have about 4 orange lip products that I need to use up before I can even think of buying another one!

On the other hand, I love Cherry Tart! The color comes off less pigmented than it is in the tube and it gives the lips this plush look like you've been using a lip plumper! Cherry Tart seems to go on smoother than Tutti Frutti too somehow.

If you haven't tried any of these Revlon Lip Butters, I suggest you go and buy yourself some before the end of year sale is over! Trust me, you're gonna love it!

End of year Salebration! + Haul

I went up to bandar last weekend to hand in my hostel key for this semester and as I am typing this I just realized that I still have a whole case of water I've forgotten to take home with me! It's still currently sitting at the corner of our cafeteria, where many of us stashed our drinks because we are too lazy to carry them up into our rooms. Um... I think I'll just leave it or pick it up another time. lol

Anyways, the annual end of year Salebration just started so James, the siblings and I decided to browse around town to see 'what's out there'. Hua Ho is having a sale on cameras, video cams and the sort. Sharon bought James a Nikon Coolpix AW100 for less than B$100 the usual price! Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Here's my get-up for that day:

I really like this sheer flowy top that I recently purchased at iTop! There's also this cute pink zipper detail at the back. I bought this because it came to my realization recently that I don't own any basic colored tops! Specifically black and white. I think I've never bought any white tops because I knew how easy it was to get them dirty and me being the klutz that I am, I knew for sure I'd get some stains on them by the end of the day. (I was right, by the way. We went to Kaizen Sushi at Waterfront and I got them sauce on my sleeves. fml!!!!)

Sharon said I looked pretty here because you can't see my face. Mean of her but I think it's so funny lol

Being all tourist-y at Yayasan!

Trying on a pair of heels at 70% off! I bought it in the end hehe

Me, Sharon and Stephen

Food pics!! I have no idea what the names of these are but they are so good!

This I know lol you can never go wrong with Salmon Sashimi!

Avocado + Salmon salad

Matcha ice cream with red bean!!! I think they gave us at least two times the serving Excapade usually gives. Totally worth it!

Fried chix with cheese. So sinful...

Fried lotus. This is good!

Even their plain vanilla ice cream is out of this world.

This was actually the first time I've been to Kaizen at Waterfront. We went there at 6pm sharp when they just opened but even then all the seats were already reserved! So we ended up just sitting by the bar, which is kinda awkward for me because the chefs are making sushi directly in front of me. A few times I looked up and caught one of the chef's eyes. *Smiled awkwardly with food in my mouth and looked back down.*

Here are my purchases of the day!

One of Guardian's offers is Buy 1 get 1 free for their Revlon Lip Butters! Will put up a review soon, stay tuned guys.

This is prolly boring to you but it's my most exciting purchase I think! lol Just because I never invested in sports clothing before. Even if I choose to buy some, I'd go to some random department store, grab a couple of clothes/pants and head to the counter. Never really cared much for sports clothing but since Hua Ho was having a sale on their sports gear and stuff, I decided to get some pants. They are so darn comfortable!! Love itttt. Still pretty expensive though, at 20% off.

These were the heels I was trying at Big Foot. Or was it Big feet?? lol I got them at 70% off for B$20!!

I. love. these.!!! I was watching fashion videos on youtube and a lot of gurus were wearing them and I think they were the cutest thing! Was so surprised when I saw this pair at a store I just had to get them.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum

Welcome to my 500th blog post! Wow, can you believe how many hours I spent sitting behind a computer screen just writing up post after post in this blog? It's insane! If you are a new reader, please do stay and I hope you like it here as much as I do. lol. If you've been reading my blog for a while now, I salute you!

Anyways, today I will be sharing my thoughts on one of my favorite lip products from Revlon!

Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum

Out of all the lipsticks that I own, I like the packaging of the lip butters the most! Just by the plastic tube itself you can already tell what the color of the product is.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum

Guardian recently released a few more 'new' shades from the Lip Butter range and I have been dying to try them out! Especially Tutti Frutti because it's a velvet orange and you know how I have been searching high and low for a good orange! Sugar Plum I think is one of the colors that was first released and I love it!

Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum

Sugar Plum looks like a deep berry color in the tube but when you apply it on the lips it's really quite sheer. Which is good for me because if it is any darker I'm not sure if I will be comfortable wearing it out all the time.

Like the other lip butters, Sugar Plum is really creamy and easy to apply on the lips. It's one of those colors where you don't need a mirror to help guide you put it on. I like to think of it as more of a chapstick than a lipstick. Not too sure about the darker colors like Candy Apple and Red Velvet but for Sugar Plum, it's definitely sheer enough to be a tinted chapstick!

I'm wearing Sugar Plum on my lips!

The Revlon Lip Butter range retails for B$15.90. I can't wait to get my hands on the other new shades!

10 Products I would repurchase

So I've noticed this tag going around which is getting quite popular on youtube and it's the '10 Products I would repurchase' tag. I thought it might be fun for me to do this as well! I feel like a kid again going through my makeup drawers and picking out the 10 products. But it's also hard to just pick 10 because there are quite a few other products that I know I would repurchase too.

Also, if you notice I didn't include any eye shadows and that's because I normally prefer to buy palettes rather than a single eye shadow so if I were to repurchase an eye shadow I'd have to buy the whole palette. Guess I shall share with you guys my top eye shadows in another blog post some other time!

Laneige Makeup Primer - Sebum Control

The first product is this primer which I love and use all the time! I believe I've had this for more than a year now and there's still a good amount of it left in this tube! It's totally worth it even though it might be a bit pricey compared to Revlon's or L'oreal's primer. I prefer this over the drugstore ones because this makes my skin feels smoother. And it smells really good too!

Revlon ColorStay foundation in Early Tan

I've tried a handful of foundations and in the end I found that I always go back to this. I think it's because this has a low SPF in it and I tend to take pictures after applying makeup for whatever reason so I chose this to avoid looking white in photos. This is also probably the longest lasting foundation I own.

Read more about the Revlon ColorStay foundation here!

Skin79 Sun Protect Beblesh Pact SPF30

I use this to set my foundation most of the times and it's a decent product. I prefer this over the MAC Studio Fix because this is less thick and doesn't cake up if you apply it generously. I never use the powder puff it comes with, normally I just use a kabuki brush and buff it into my skin. I am kinda weird with powders, I don't like it being too thick but I want it to give me a smooth finish.

Revlon Grow Luscious Lash Liner in Onyx

This is probably my favorite black eyeliner! It works similar to the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil but cost so much cheaper. There's really nothing else I can say about this except that I love it lol

Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara

I have gone through several tubes of this mascara and I know I am going to repurchase this again once it's gone. I am not exactly blessed with thick luscious lashes so this helps a lot in giving the illusion of having thicker lashes! Again, I've tried a few other mascaras but lo and behold this is the one I always go back to.

 Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

I have to say I had a really hard time choosing the lip products! There are so many others which I love but in the end I chose the Revlon Lip Butters simply because they are affordable, moisturizing, creamy and pigmented! What more can you ask for in a lip product? The cute packaging helps too, of course!

Etude House Easy Brow Pencil

This I love because it's easy to use and easy to travel with. The only thing is I have to sharpen it every once in a while but I don't really mind doing that. It's also quite cheap, I think I paid about B$6.90 for this! Don't have much to say about this except that it's an essential in my daily makeup routine. I can't go out without my brows, you know. haha

 Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner

This is one of the first makeup products I purchase when I started getting really into makeup! It's a true black unlike many of those marker pen liners which are easy to use but comes out looking grey-ish and transparent-ish. This one's perfect and I don't think I will even bother looking for other liquid liners out there. Maybe next time when I am overseas but certainly not in Brunei.

 NYX powder blush

The blusher in the picture above is called Mocha and this is one of the blushers that I reach for the most even though I barely made a dent in it! Looks brand new in the shot actually haha Anyways I think Mocha is great for every day use and I like that it's a slightly muted peachy color which I always tend to go for. Somehow pinks are not my favorite color for blushers because they look quite unnatural on my tanned skin-tone.

Read more about the NYX powder blush in Mocha here!

MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle

I tried not to go for makeup products that is unavailable locally because it would be difficult for me to repurchase these products if they are inaccessible! But I knew I had to make an exception here because there is simply no other products like this that I can purchase locally in Brunei! The MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle is a beautiful highlighter and I use it to highlight my cheekbones. You can also use it on the cupid's bow or on the bridge of the nose for that extra glow.

So there you go, the 10 products I would repurchase! Feel free to do this tag if it tickles your fancy!

The Face Shop: Happy Chu Lip

Walked in to The Face Shop the other day just to browse around and was greeted with "Hi, Welcome to Face Shop!" I noticed that many of the staff in beauty stores here greet people whenever someone walks into their store and they'll greet you once again when you leave even though you bought nothing haha I think it adds a nice touch to the store, it makes the store a whole lot more approachable.

Anyways, I haven't been to TFS for a while now and decided to go in to see if there's anything new. The sales lady told me that there are a few new things like their new summer products and also this new line of lip stuff from their Lovely ME:EX collection. I've been searching high and low for a good orange lip product and I saw this one from the new collection and picked it up.

The Face Shop Happy Chu Lip in OR201

The five colors available

I got the orange shade for roughly B$12. It's not cheap for a tinted lip balm but I thought I'd give this a try since I hardly ever use TFS's lip products. tbh, this is only my second lip product from TFS! The other was their lip and cheek tint which I love!

The amount of product available

Now that I think about it, I'd rather spend that money on a Revlon Lip Butter! haha just because Revlon Lip Butters are more pigmented and you can get a lip balm like this for way cheaper at Guardian!

The color payoff is decent for a lip balm and I like how glossy and smooth my lips feel after applying this. It moisturizes the lips without feeling overly slick. This product does have a subtle scent to it though, it reminds me of erasers with fragrances that I love to buy when I was a kid haha

I'm wearing Happy Chu Lip OR201 on my lips

Well, I still am searching for an orange colored lip product! I wanna get something more pigmented but nothing too vibrant of course lol Just wanna try it out to see if it suits my skin tone. Plus, orange can be a fun color to wear on the lips!
