MAC Lipstick in Russian Red

I was at MAC's the other day in Midvalley looking at their gorgeous lipsticks and was recommended Russian Red. Now I'm not one to use red lipstick on a regular basis because the only red lipstick that I own before this was Revlon's Love that red and that color I sometimes like on me and other times I don't. But I decided to try out Russian Red anyway after I swatched it in the store because it really is beautiful and I can't resist!

I never imagined the first MAC lipstick that I bought myself to be such a bold color to be honest. I thought I'd go for something nude or at least a pink for everyday use. There's another color which is lighter and less muted called Ruby Woo and that is also a stunning shade. Ruby Woo is also Sophia's (Fashionista804 on youtube) favorite MAC lipstick while Russian Red is Sammi's (beautycrush on youtube). Is it weird that I know this? lol

Russian Red is described as an intense blueish red on MAC's website. It also has a matte finish, which I love! This lipstick stays on for a very long time too, I remember wearing this out when we went to Pavilion and it's still there intact on my lips after 6 hours of shopping! Even after I ate, only the inner part of my lips has lost a bit of the color. It bleed a little on my lower lips at first but after that I went on and bought one of Sephora's red lip liners to line my lips prior to applying Russian Red and it turned out perfect.  It's not too drying on the lips too and it doesn't transfer easily.

If you're looking for a good quality red lipstick, I really recommend you guys to get this one! You can purchase this at any MAC stores/counters in KLCC, Pavilion, Midvalley, Sogo, etc for RM68.

OOTD + trip to KLCC

Tutorials have officially started this week and apparently the degree here is about 3.5 years so for each semester, the locals here have to take more modules to fulfill their credits in order to graduate. The norm is 18-20+ modular credits each semester. And I took 12. lol

A few days ago we finally decided to explore KLCC using the LRT. We've been there twice since and still we haven't taken any pictures of the twin towers! All we did is shop indoors because the LRT stops inside the shopping mall itself so we didn't see a point of going outside the building. Definitely gotta go outside next time to take some photos of the most popular landmark in KL.

 OOTD:
Top: Cotton On, Bottom: Soda

We went to a lot of the clothing stores and I have already started to filter out the ones that I really like. Uni Qlo, Cotton On and Soda! Gap is nice too but it's so pricey! One T-shirt can go for RM99. Even if you convert it to BND it's gonna cost about B$40 which is still kinda ridiculous for a cotton T-shirt. The nicer ones are about RM160 at least. Forever21 is also quite pricey for the brand. I don't mind buying but it really turns me off when you see the price as RM120 let's say but the tag says 'Made in Bangladesh'. wtf

It was surprisingly crowded on Tuesday

At Sephora!
 Stila

Laura Mercier

 OPIs

 Soap and Glory!

Kenny making herself busy while I shopped lol

My basket!

I wasn't sure if I wanna get the Naked Basics or the Naked 2 but I've always wanted the latter so I got that. The Stila and Too Faced palettes are quite affordable too at RM129 and RM139 respectively. There are so many things there that I wanted to try but I decided against it. Gotta have some self control else I will go mad!

Creative display by LV. The sales person in many of these luxurious stores are mostly men in suits and ties. Even the jewelry stores here have securities standing at the entrance holding big-ass rifles.

Harrods!

Had our lunch at one of their food courts there. The food here in KL is seriously yum! I have yet to try any food that is just blah.

Mee hoon soup with real fish lol

Japanese Tau-hu w/ chix

We then resumed our jalan-jalan-ing..

 Heaven on earth!

My haul at the end of the day. I also got the Stay matte foundation by Rimmel in Guardian. I know Bethany by Macbarbie07 used to swear by this foundation. I can't wait to try it out!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I finally caved in and bought the Revlon Just Kissable balm stain! I was starting to hate myself when I realize I didn't bring one with me because I hate reapplying lip products especially in campus where touching up my makeup really isn't on top of my to-do list. I like using something that stays for at least a few hours. I found a lot of different types of lip stains from various brands here but the Just Kissable balm stain seems to be the most moisturizing one so far so I got it!

I was skeptical at first because it applies very much like a lip balm would but the pigmentation is really good. But after a while the balm stain settles and then it's impossible to budge. I have a feeling I'll be going back for the other shades lol

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart Valentine

Sweetheart valentine is a gorgeous soft pink shade but you can also build it up for a more solid color. That's what I like about the Just Kissable balm stains, they can be subtle or bold depending on your taste!

Lip Swatch of Sweetheart Valentine

They lasted for about 3-4 hours on me. After that it started fading but the stains were still there the next morning! Even the ones on the back of my hand where I tried swatching them in the store. The only downside is the product gets drier on your lips throughout the day so I suggest bringing along a chapstick to moisturize those lips. Other than that, I think Revlon has once again brought out a very impressive line of lip products! The Just Kissable Balm Stain retails for RM33 in Sasa. You can also find them in Guardian or Watsons.

Out and about in Times Square & Midvalley!

Next week is going to be our third week of the semester so tutorials will be starting soon. The education system in UM is slightly different but it is still more or less the same as UBD less the fact that the lecturers here don't exactly stick to one core textbook for each course. The notes are a little bit here and there so me and Kanniga is still trying to grasp the idea of not having any textbooks to refer to. We are that old school.

Anyways! This weekend is the best!! (I know I said the same thing in my last post but this week really is the best lol) Our classes are only on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. So on the other days we won't need to head over to UM for any classes, which is pretty awesome. This friday we went to Times Square, Saturday we went to Bukit Bintang and today we went to Midvalley - again!

We've been to Midvalley the most so far because it's closest to the place where we are staying but only today we found out that the Gardens was right next to Midvalley! If you don't already know, the Gardens is a shopping mall much like Pavillion, but just a tad smaller.

My favorite place for snacks in Little Taipei at Times Square!

My first time trying Subway. The line was really long, I panicked when the lady asked me which veggie I'd like in my sandwich so I told her whichever so she put everything in. -__- That was supposed to be Chicken Teriyaki btw

 My haul for today.
Finally bought MAC's Studio Fix Fluid!

If you follow me on twitter, you might have came across my tweets saying I moved from Pantai Hillpark to Pantai Panorama! Pantai Hillpark is fine but the one we're staying in is in Phase 5 which is on top of a hill (more like a sahara desert on a mountain aka a sahara mountain) and we couldn't bring ourselves to walk up that hill every single day so we decided to move. Anyway, the view from my new apartment at Panorama is really spectacular. I'm so grateful to be able to see this every night and all I have to do is turn my head to the right.
